Is there a cost and what is the time commitment if cast?
While GREAT has a professional staff we are primarily a
volunteer organization; a typical show at the Paramount requires around 4,500 hours of volunteer time. Volunteer support is needed to make shows a success and we ask that you commit your family to volunteering in either the costume shop, scene shop, green room, at student matinees, load in and strike, distributing posters or in the office.

There is no "registration cost" if cast in a GREAT production.  We do offer a cast t-shirt and show photos for optional purchase and we may need you to purchase shoes (average cost $25.)  There is a cost to purchase tickets to attend the show and many of our actors are also part of our donor family.  We don't want any of this to be a hardship so please contact us prior to auditioning if you have any concerns.

Here is what past volunteers have to say about their experience...

"I really enjoy the people you get to know and the new things you are able to learn."

"Working backstage is a fantastic experience to learn more about theatre and also to be involved in a show without as huge of a time commitment."

"Supporting the performing arts! Enhance the richness of live theatre into our communities and the lives of others for the GOOD of ones Soul!"

If you have any questions about auditioning or the volunteer expectations if cast please reach out to us, we are happy to talk it through with you.  And, you don't have to be cast to volunteer-- we take volunteers of all abilities at all times.
