APPROPRIATE FOR: While appropriate for all ages, it will be most enjoyed by families ages six and up (that are not afraid of the Ghost of Christmas Future.)

  • Published in 1843, it is the most popular piece of fiction Charles Dickens ever wrote (and he wrote the book in only six weeks.)

  • There have been more than 20 film versions of A Christmas Carol, including versions starring The Muppets, Barbie, Mickey Mouse, and Mr Magoo.

  • Dickens’s childhood was much like the Cratchit family. He was the second of eight children, and his parents had only a modest income. Though the Dickens family's circumstances weren’t as dire as those of the Cratchits, they were always financially poor.
