August 1 & 2, 2025

BE PART OF THE STORY

“Pour yourself a cup of ambition” and join us for auditions for 9 to 5: The Musical. Based on the 1980 film of the same name and featuring a score by the inimitable Dolly Parton, this show centers around three women — an overworked office manager, a jilted wife, and an objectified secretary — who conspire to depose their smarmy boss and begin making woman-friendly changes in the workplace. Full of fun songs & dance numbers, fabulous fashion, feminism, and a dash of fantasy, 9 to 5 will leave you cheering!

We are committed to casting a group of actors ranging in age from 18-80 who reflect the people of our community. We will be casting all roles to include different shapes, ethnicities, and identities.

The ensemble is heavily involved throughout the show including onstage and offstage singing. The ensemble will also be required to be strong movers, with some opportunities for featured dancers. Please refer to the Character Descriptions section below to learn more about the variety of parts. Understudies for speaking roles may be cast from the ensemble (please note that understudying a role will not restrict/limit opportunities for your principal track).

CHARACTER LISTS

A Note On Theatrical Intimacy:

Theatrical intimacy is any action on stage where the given circumstances of the scene or the overall production calls for touch, both physical and imaginative, or moments between actors of simulated sex or sexual violence.

GREAT has been learning from Intimacy Directors & Coordinators (IDC) to improve processes and incorporate safer practices for theatrical intimacy in our rehearsals.

All scenes with intimacy follow a specific set of staging and rehearsal protocols rooted in consent and safety for the actors.

Note: This role will require the actor to be put into implied, “compromising” positions with a male-identifying actor.
