Be a part of Langston Hughes’s Black Nativity! Retell the story of Mary, Joseph, and the Nativity through dynamic Gospel music, dance, and celebration. This high energy production, written by acclaimed poet Langston Hughes, is a unique theatrical experience shared through narration, dance, and spirituals. 

GREAT is seeking a cast of performers ranging in age from 10 and up! Join the celebration.

WHAT TO EXPECT FOR AUDITIONS

Please come as you are! Be prepared to play. Auditions for Langston Hughes’s Black Nativity will consist of singing, dancing, and reading/storytelling. 

  • Sing: “Joy to the World.” The team wants to hear you sing! If you know “Joy to the World” be ready to sing it. Or, choose another song that you like to sing. 
  • Dance: You’ll learn a dance at the audition. Wear clothing that allows you to move and come prepared to learn some new steps. (No prep required!)
  • Reading/Storytelling: You will be asked to tell a story – any story of your choice – or read a section from the play. (No prep required!)
