Joining the backstage crew for Shrek the Musical is an opportunity to help create a fairytale adventure filled with comedy, heart, and a little magic. Highlights of being part of this opportunity include:

Help Bring a Fairy Tale World to Life. From swamps and castles to beloved storybook characters, backstage crew members play a key role in creating the imaginative world of Shrek the Musical through costumes, props, scene changes, and technical elements.

Be Part of a Multi-Generational Production. With both youth and adults involved in the show, backstage crew members become part of a fun, collaborative theatre community that brings performers of all ages together.

Support Big Comedy & High-Energy Storytelling. This musical is filled with quick transitions, energetic musical numbers, and magical moments that rely on strong behind-the-scenes teamwork to keep the production running smoothly.

Gain Hands-On Theatre Experience. Crew members will build valuable skills in live production, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration while helping create an unforgettable experience for audiences and performers alike.

I understand that some meetings and rehearsals may take place via Zoom and may be recorded for internal/educational use. I give GREAT Theatre permission to use images of me to promote GREAT Theatre and list my name, photo, and bio in the online digital program.(Required)


ROLES

DECK CREW (2 people needed) – Deck crew is responsible for the technical scenic elements of productions.

RAIL CREW (1-2 people needed) – They are responsible for fly in/out of scenery or curtains at varying speeds.

WARDROBE CREW (2-3 people needed) – Wardrobe crew is responsible for the care of all the finished costumes. This role has you staying a bit later than everyone else in order to sanitize costumes.

FOLLOW SPOT OPERATORS (2 people needed) – Are responsible for controlling the follow spots.

LIGHT BOARD OPERATOR (1 person needed) – They will trigger light cues during performances.

QLAB OPERATOR (1 person needed) – They will be triggering sound cues.
