Nominate an Outstanding Volunteer

At GREAT, volunteers are the heart of the process. While audiences see the final product on stage, we know the true magic happens along the way. We value the process just as much as the performance because that is where belonging grows, confidence is built, and collaboration comes to life. And it is because of this that we honor a volunteer each season — someone who helps create not just a great show, but a great experience for everyone involved. New this year, we invite you to nominate an outstanding GREAT volunteer who exemplifies:

  • Education Mindset – Approaches their work with curiosity and a willingness to learn. Supports growth in others. Understands that mistakes are part of the process and helps create an environment where people feel safe to try, stretch, and grow.
  • Collaboration & Consent – Works with others in a spirit of partnership and shared purpose. Listens well, communicates clearly, and respects boundaries. Values input from others and helps create spaces where every voice matters.
  • Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion – Actively helps cultivate a culture where all people feel seen, valued, and supported. Celebrates differences and contributes to an environment where barriers are reduced and belonging is strengthened.
  • Spirit of Belonging – Creates a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Builds relationships. Notices who may be on the margins and helps draw them in so everyone feels like they are part of something meaningful.
  • Community-Centered Leadership – Leads by example, builds others up, and notices when support is needed. Helps create a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and shared ownership of the work.
  • Genuine Engagement – Shows up authentically. Expresses gratitude. Takes pride in being part of this community and supports others with kindness and integrity.

Nominees may serve in any capacity — on stage, backstage, in classrooms, on committees, or behind the scenes. What matters most is the spirit they bring and the impact they have on those around them.
