GREAT is excited to announce our brand new "Script In Hand Series" to create more performance and directing opportunities for local artists and introduce audiences to new plays. What is "Script In Hand?" It is a full "reading/performance" of a play that the actors are allowed to have their scripts in their hands (or the scripts could be on music stands) so they are not memorized. The director of each show will create blocking, use of limited costumes, props and sound effects to create a performance experience for the audience.

The Transition of Doodle Pequeño is a magic-filled, multiple award-winning play for all ages about two boys who become friends in spite of their differences. It’s Halloween and Doodle is the new kid in the neighborhood. Accompanied by his imaginary goat, Doodle befriends Reno, a boy who is unpopular with the neighborhood kids because he likes to wear dresses. A blend of English, Spanish and “Goat,” this comic play takes a heartwarming look at the consequences of name calling, interrogates the issue of gender-bullying, and relates the universal themes of identity, friendship and acceptance.
You are welcome to join us immediately following the performance for a brief discussion about the play and it's important messages.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central MN Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
