Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus

To bus or not to bus? That is the question. The answer to that question can be found in our production of Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus! The Musical! An energetic, hot-dog filled production about a determined Pigeon- who never gets to do ANYTHING! But when Pigeon’s friendly, neighborhood Bus Driver is troubled by something that threatens to make their passengers late (GASP!), maybe Pigeon CAN do something. In this Musical, Pigeon strives to find their thing, and hopefully, through this production, you can find YOUR thing too. AUDITIONS MOVED TO ZOOM

Roles:

*Please note that none of these roles are gender specific, the pronouns used below simply adhere to those of the original Broadway cast and performance. Anyone is applicable for any part regardless of gender.

Pigeon- Dramatic. Sassy. Inspired. A bird with a big attitude who never gets what he wants, but that doesn’t mean he’ll stop trying.

Bus Driver- Punctual. Responsible. Passionate. A public transportation professional, who prides herself on her timely arrival and the fact that she is NEVER late.

Business Man- Anxious. Techy. A no-nonsense man who cannot bear being late.com to his brand-new job.

Little Old Lady- Caring. Family Oriented. Well-meaning. A granny who can’t wait any longer to see her precious grandbaby, but maybe she can spare a moment to feed the peckish birds.

Teenager- Hurried. Pop-Cultured. Hip. A kid in a hurry to see the NEWEST Superhero movie. Speaks in a stereotypical surfer-boy type accent.

Bus Engine- Animated. Proud. Loud. The personified sound of the Bus’ engine both working and (Uh Oh!) not working.

City Worker- Serious. Gruff. Efficient. A grunt-y guy just trying to do his job.

Duckling- Joyful. Convincing. Innocent. A sweet, little duck, whose “thing” is her ability to get hot dogs.

Hot Dog Vendor- Stuck-Up. Opinionated. Passionate. A man with a joy for sharing delicious hot dogs with the world, as long as the world doesn’t include any pigeons.

Puppy- Cuddly. Friendly. Cute. An adorable Puppy, who makes people stop and say “Awwww.” Unless you’re a Pigeon, then it sounds more like an “AHHHH!”

Bus Driver’s Mom- Loving. Maternal. Safety-Oriented. Bus Drivers have moms too, you know. And our Bus Driver has one of the best.

Airplane Engine- Animated. Proud. Loud. A shiny, new Airplane engine’s personified sounds.

Ensemble/Dancers- Animated Singers and Dancers who’ll bring the scenes and songs to life.

SAFETY

GREAT remains committed to monitoring the current recommendations, guidelines and restrictions and will continue to follow CDC guidelines and executive orders.

Given the rapid spread of COVID19, particularly in our tri-county area, GREAT is updating our vaccination/testing policy for staff and volunteers to help keep our casts and team healthy so we can keep producing live theater experiences. Effective December 9, 2021 all GREAT staff, artists, and volunteers are required to show either proof of vaccination or weekly proof of a negative PCR test. Masking will continue to be required for everyone regardless of vaccination status, except while on stage during performances. More information can be found HERE.
