Helgeson Learning Lab

SEPT 10, 2022

Through a theatrical lens, volunteer youth will explore aspects of mental health with the guidance and assistance of a trained mental health professional (Lisa Burshock, Centracare’s Suicide Prevention Educator) and award winning theatre directors (Amy Hunter and Jennifer Wirz). This devised work presents youth performers with the opportunity to collaborate in crafting a one-of-a-kind performance.

The project will culminate with a performance of the devised work on September 10th, Worldwide Suicide Prevention Day.

Advisory: The Youth Mental Health Project aims to illuminate the sensitive and oftentimes challenging nature of mental health. With professionals to help guide conversation, youth volunteers will be discussing a wide range of topics including but not limited to suicide and self harm.

SAFETY

GREAT will continue to follow current MDH and CDC guidelines and reserves the right to update Covid safety policies to reflect the guidelines including requiring masks and/or showing proof of vaccination or weekly proof of a negative Covid test.
