November 9th & 12th

Based on the Disney Channel original movie, Disney’s Descendants the Musical brings the heroes and villains you know and love live to the stage! While the fairytale royalty reside happily in the Kingdom of Auradon, the iconic villains are banished to the wretched Isle of the Lost. Twenty years later, a new official decree is announced: the children of Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Jafar, and the Evil Queen are invited to attend Auradon Prep School because the future generation should not be punished for the past. The new generation gets to determine whether someone is born evil or if they have wickedness thrust upon them.

We are committed to casting youth and adults ages 10 and up that will reflect the people of our community. Auradon and the Isle of the Lost are diverse communities with inhabitants of all races, ages, abilities, body types, and gender identities and we will cast the production as such.

Learn all about the story, our vision, and the auditions for Disney’s Descendants the Musical by attending our audition info meeting on November 2nd, 6-7PM via Zoom.

What to Prepare for Auditions

Auditions provide an opportunity for you to showcase your theatre interests and talents. We want to get to know you and see you succeed! The audition for Disney’s Descendants the Musical will have three parts to it: singing, dancing, and a lip sync. Please read on for more information about how to prepare. And remember to have fun!

Please indicate any special talents on your audition form including but not limited to formal dance training, gymnastic skills, or musical instrument proficiencies.

1) Please prepare a MUSIC SELECTION.

Please prepare a song from the list below that best showcases your voice and demonstrates a connection to the character that you are auditioning for. Click on the links below for the sheet music. Please be prepared to sing along with accompaniment tracks.

2) Please be prepared to LIP-SYNC.

A good lip-sync is either meant to showcase the performer’s acting skills or dancing skills. While you will have the chance to sing and dance, the lip-sync portion of this audition is an opportunity for you to showcase your energy and acting skills! Have fun with this!  We are looking to see how you can commit. Make it funny, make it serious, make us cry… Just make an impression!

Pick one of the song options from the MUSIC SELECTIONS portion of the audition. You may either choose to do the same song as your singing audition or select a different song. Full tracks are below, but you only need to prepare the portion of the first part of the song (same section as the MUSIC SELECTION cutting).

  • “If Only” track (top of song-measure 33)
  • “Good is the New Bad” track (measures 1-5)
  • “Evil Like Me” track (measures 1-23)
  • “Did I Mention” track (measures 1-15)
  • “Chillin’ Like a Villain” track (top of song through measure 31)
  • “Better Together” track (top of song through measure 13)

3) Please come ready to dance! You do not need to prepare ahead of time as our choreographers will teach at the audition. Please dress for movement, wearing clothing and shoes that allow you to comfortably and safely move (dance shoes are not needed).

Mal – The hero. She is a sneaky, smart, ruthless girl who was raised to be a leader. Though she is compassionate to her friends, she is vengeful and unforgiving to anyone who doesn’t actively help her. She is artistic and has a knack for casting spells. As the daughter of Maleficent, she wants to be like her mother: pure evil. Her “mean girl” façade is an act because she does not want to be seen as weak but deep down she is a good person. Gender: Female presenting, all ethnicities, potential physical intimacy/kiss.

Evie – She is smart, flirty, and very kind in the long run—Unlike the others. She is very charming. But don’t let her charm fool you, Evie is loyal and authoritative when she wants to be.  The Evil Queen Grimhilde’s daughter. She hides her brilliance behind a superficial, image-obsessed attitude.  Gender: Female presenting, all ethnicities, potential physical intimacy/kiss.

Jay — He is handsome, punkish, and mischievous. Being athletic, Jay provides the brawn in the group. He is a thief, a con man, a fetching quick-witted boy with charm to spare, whose lies are as beautiful and silvery as his eyes. Jafar’s son. Gender: Male presenting & all ethnicities.

Carlos-. He is jumpy and anxious, but with the skills of a true tech prodigy.  Despite a fear of dogs and just about everything else, he has the capacity to be brave and kind.  Cruella de Vil’s son. Gender: Male presenting &  all ethnicities.

Chad – Cinderella and Prince Charming’s son. An arrogant and spoiled blockhead, he’s never wanted for anything. He can be considered underhanded and close-minded. He is big flirt and a heart-breaker.
