When she’s not spending time participating in GREAT camps and productions, Emalyn enjoys soccer, baking, painting, and math. She was in her first play when she was 5 years old, and is 11 now.
“I’ve been in 6 plays, and auditioned for 12. I first tried it because I saw my sister in a summer camp and I heard about how much fun she had. Then when I was in my first play – The Wizard of Oz – it was with my sister AND my brother, which was cool.
My favorite part about all of this is my theatre friends that I’ve been in shows with. I meet new people and then also reconnect with old ones when we’re in shows together. Whenever someone is thinking about joining a show, I tell them JUST GO FOR IT! It’s fun – and even if you don’t get a part, it’s OK because there’s always another show for you to try out again.”
