January 16th & 17th

In this year’s Youth Artist Project, you can rock out and experience the joy of being you! Wilbur the Naked Mole Rat was just like all the other naked mole rats until the day an ordinary hat falls into his tunnel and transforms his life forever. Based on the hit children’s book by Mo Willems, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience proves that there’s no need to be just like everyone else. With tail-shaking tunes and inspiring messages of individuality, this musical is sure to rock audiences of all ages.

We are committed to casting a group of youth ranging in age from 8-17 that will reflect the people of our community. We will be casting roles to include all ethnicities, all gender expressions, and all bodies.

The purpose of auditions is to get to know you and see your amazing skills! Please prepare to sing, dance, act, and have fun!!

Roles:

*Please note that none of these roles are gender specific. Anyone is applicable for any part regardless of gender.

Wilbur J. Mole Rat: Daydreamer and wishful thinker. Enjoys wearing clothes and sharing them with others. Embraces change and differences.

Grande Mole Rat: The popular mole rat, who is comfortable with the way things already are. Very influential to their friend’s opinions, and struggles with empathy.

Venti Mole Rat: Laidback and is simply happy to be along for the ride. Slow to understand, but very willing.

Tall Mole Rat: Unknowingly silly. Youthful, imaginative, and empathetic but easily swayed.

Grand-Pah Mole Rat: Realist, eldest, most nakedest, most greatest (as in grand) mole rat. Makes the rules and is admired by all. Has a no-nonsense way of thinking.

Stark Naked: Charming and punctual gossip of the mole rat colony. Speaks for the other mole rat citizens.

Weather Mole: Recounts the weather in the naked mole rat home, The Tunnel- which, until know, was unchanging. Like Stark Naked, is often a source of misinformation.

Potential Customer: Doesn’t like clothes and is going to tell EVERYONE! Good at running and yelling, could possibly use a pair of shoes.

Secret Service: The serious and intimidating protector of Grand-Pah Mole Rat. Indulges in spontaneous rock solos.

Naked Mole Rat Ensemble: Dancers and singers that participate in musical numbers and represent the citizens of the mole rat colony.

The Fleshtones: A rockin’ mole rat band that helps tell the story through their body movements and air-instruments. (non-speaking roles)
