BE PART OF THE STORY

Into the Woods is a Tony-award winning musical known for its clever storytelling and exquisite music with brilliant lyrics – making it a delight for actors, creative team, and audience! It’s Sondheim, so it’s a show that features complex characters and challenging lyrics and melodies. With a smaller cast (approximately twenty roles), comedic moments, and poignant reflections, this show provides an opportunity for actors to delve into character and vocal work. It’s less of a dance show and has a place for the “movers.”

A Note On Theatrical Intimacy:

Theatrical intimacy is any action on stage where the given circumstances of the scene or the overall production calls for touch, both physical and imaginative, or moments between actors of simulated sexuality or sexual violence.

GREAT has been learning from Intimacy Directors & Coordinators (IDC) to improve processes and incorporate safer practices for theatrical intimacy in our rehearsals.

All scenes with intimacy follow a specific set of staging and rehearsal protocols rooted in consent and safety for the actors.
